The world is a vast place, full of unique and imposing landscapes, that surprise us by its harmony and perfection, by which it is difficult to compare the beauty of one or another place. However, on 11 November 2011, in a competition organized by the foundation “New 7 Wonders”, were announced the seven natural wonders of the world, chosen by a billion people around the world, winners were:

  1. Amazon Jungle: Located between: Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Guyana, Venezuela and Surinam, is one of the largest plant lungs of the world, with an extension of 6 million square kilometers. It is home to many species of plants and animals, as well as rivers and amazing and hidden destinations in the depths of its landscapes.
  2. Iguazu Falls: Located between the province of Misiones, in Argentina and the Brazilian state of Parana, constitutes a geological fault that forms 275 waterfalls. Being the highest, known as the devil’s throat with 80 meters, has many trails from which you can view all the jumps and the animal species that live there.
  3. Underground River of Puerto Princesa: Located on the island of Palawan, the Philippines, 50 kilometers north of Puerto Princesa city. It constitutes a mixture between landscape “Karst” and an underground river that passes through a rocky area, to flows into the sea. It is located in a tropical jungle, mixing of forest ecosystems and beach, being also the home of a wide variety of plant and animal species.
  4. Bay of Ha-long: Located to the north of Vietnam, in Quang Ninh province, constitutes a set of 1,600 islands and islets that make up a wonderful sea landscape of 120 kilometers of coastline, which has remained unchanged by the hand of man, which makes it a unique ecosystem of great diversity.
  5. Jeju Island: Located in South Korea, in the province of Jeju; is the largest island of that country, with 1,846 square kilometers. The same count with hundreds of craters, a dormant volcano, incredible landscapes, waterfalls and cliffs; as well as a variety of animal and plant species that coexist in a pleasant subtropical climate, which makes it the ideal destination.
  6. Komodo National Park: Located in Indonesia, covers a land area of 1,817 square kilometers and consists 29 islands with crystal clear waters, being the most famous: Rinca, Padar and Gilia, since they are the largest. It is known for being the home of the famous komodo dragon and was created to protect him, as well as to other species and marine animals.
  7. Table Mountain: Located in Cape Town, South Africa. It is a mountain with 1,084.6 meters in height, which is part of a national park with a huge diversity of plant and animal species, as well as beautiful mountain and sea landscapes, which can be appreciated from a cableway located on its flat top.
