Valencia is the third most populous city and metropolitan area in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona. With modern buildings, historical heritage, beautiful parks  and a temperate climate, it is the ideal destination at any time of the year. So, if you have not visited this beautiful place, we invite you to join us on this tour.

The city was founded as a colony by the Romans in the year 138 AD. Several centuries later, in the year 711, the Muslims occupied the region contributing with their language, religion and customs. In 1982, it was established as the capital of the current Valencian Community. This beautiful city, located on the banks of the Turia River, is a paradise surrounded by beautiful buildings, in which Rome mixes with the Valencian Baroque and the ultramodern buildings of the City of Arts and Science.

Many places can be visited on foot, but it is advisable to use the bus or a rental car if you want to explore places like the Parque de Cabecera or La Albufera. That is ten kilometers away to the south of the city and it is one of the largest lakes in Spain, called by the Arabs Espejo del Sol, meaning Mirror of the Sun, with 2100 hectares of surface, plus 14100 hectares of marsh dedicated to the cultivation of rice; this place was declared the first Natural Park of Valencia, due to the cultural, historical and ecological value of the region.

We can then go up to the Miguelete or the “Micalet”, a beautiful bell tower of the 14th century cathedral, with 207 steps to the top. If you succeed to get to the top, you can appreciate, from there, the Plaza de la Reina and the Virgen .

This beautiful Spanish region is a must see for anyone who visits Spain, because its beautiful and historic places and buildings such as: La Lonja de la Seda (World Heritage Site of UNESCO), the Palace of the Marquis of Dos Aguas, the city hall square, the Almonia Archaeological Museum, the Torres de Serrano, the Torres de Quart; The Malvarrosa Beach; the Bioparc; the City of Arts and Sciences, the Barrio del Carmen, the Estación del Norte, among others, make this city an ideal option for an excellent vacation.

Something we must point out is that cities are also known for their gastronomy, so you should not forget to try a rich Valencian paella, the famous rice with crust, the rossejat of noodles or fideuá, the mona de pascua (a kind of sweet round cake), the olla Valenciana, a delicious stew that includes legumes, meats, sausages and rice, or a real horchata, a refreshing drink based on tiger nuts, sugar, water, cinnamon and lemon peel.

After all this tourist and gastronomic tour, where history, modernity and flavors are mixed, you will not be able to resist the temptation of visiting Valencia,  a 5 star destination that will be waiting for you.
