Sunscreen? Many women consider that using sunscreens are only limited to the sunny beach days, ignoring the importance and the great benefits that these would bring us if we use them every day. When we are exposed daily to harmful ultraviolet rays without protection, we risk ourselves, these cause many effects on our skin and body because slowly damage the DNA in our cells, reducing the growth and increase the incidence of skin cancer, causing burns that the irritate the epidermis; and encourage premature aging of our skin.
Therefore, it is necessary that we protect our most sensitive organ (the skin) of the radiations from the sun, using sunscreen of the best brands and products that fulfill this purpose; so that these can act as a protective layer to reduce the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays and it is important to apply them on a daily basis; because in addition to prevent possible skin diseases and burns, also prevent the appearance of spots on the body and face (melasma); avoiding wrinkles and loss of elasticity of our epidermis.
To choose the right type of sunscreen is essential to know our skin type and tone, the skin type is determined by each particular phototype that a person has; therefore it is necessary to know it, because according to this the necessary protective measures will be taken at the time of sunbathing. We describe the types of phototype in the following manner:
Type 1: corresponds to the skin that is very clear and sensitive to the sun, people with this skin type will never tan they only get burn.
Type 2: this characterizes the people who show a reddish colored skin when they get in contact with sunlight. They have sensitive skin.
Type 3: their skin is also sensitive to solar radiation, reaches only a slight tan and they get burned on a regular basis.
Type 4: this skin type is not as sensitive to the sun, so they do not usually burn.
Type 5 y 6: those with these phototypes enjoy a high resistance to ultraviolet rays, they rarely get burn and have a tanned look.
In this regard you should choose the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) depending on these needs. So for some sensitive skin it is suggested to use one of SPF 15 daily; if it is more sensible use one of SPF 50 or more, and if you only want to tan one of SPF 10 is recommended. Always remember that our skin is exposed to sun, you must use a sunscreen applying it at least every four hours.
