Waxing is one of the most painful beauty routines, however there are some tips that will help you and make hair removal less stressful.
One of the options to avoid pain is to apply anaesthetic spray in the area to be waxed, which will numb the area and reduce pain, but it doesn’t eliminate it completely.
If you are using wax, we recommend:
* Gently exfoliating the skin before and after.
* Hair should not be removed when it is too short or too long. Ideally, the hair should be between 0.5 and 1 centimeter long.
* The skin should be clean, dry and free of any cream or oil.
* When using hot wax, you should press it down 3-4 times in the direction of the hair so that you have a better adherence
* Removal of the wax should be done quickly in the opposite direction to hair growth.
Finally, you must use an oil-based cleaner to remove the waste.
These steps will promote a much less painful hair removal.
To prevent the wax from adhering to the skin, but adhering firmly to the hair, you can use talc without fragrance.
After waxing, you should avoid doing physical exercises or expose yourself to extreme heat, at least in the next 24 hours, since sweat can irritate the skin. You should also avoid swimming pools and beaches, you should not sunbathe or be exposed to artificial UVA rays.
Tweezing is one of the most painful hair removal methods. This is due to the aggressiveness of the procedure, which consists in extracting the hairs from the roots. Usually, this type of hair removal is only done in small areas, such as the eyebrows and the upper part of the lips.
To open the pores before waxing it is advisable to apply hot water, since it facilitates the removal of the hair. To relieve post-waxing soreness, you can use ice, as it decreases skin sensitivity.
If you prefer to use depilatory creams, this is the less painful hair removal method, however the chemicals it contains can cause burns in the area to be removed. For this reason, we recommend reading the application instructions that come with the product, so you do not exceed the application time.
We recommend performing a small test by applying the product on the inside of your arm to make sure you do not have an allergic skin reaction to it.
Another hair removal option is laser hair removal. This procedure offers the eradication of the hair, in exchange for only an annoying sensation that disappears when the process is finished, which can be mitigated with a cooling system with cold air or cold plates for topical use, both before and after the laser application.
By following these tips, hair removal will be less painful and you will get better results with less discomfort.
