In the world there are treasures that have never been found, these have left us with a curiosity as big, hoping that with the time its mysteries be revealed. And this is clearly evident during the first attempts of man to achieve response to what had happened with certain ancient civilizations. These civilizations have left their wake great mysteries hidden in every corner of the world in form of treasures and relics; in those corners where the man has not yet been able to reach or have not been discovered, questioning the current capacity in the development of the human intellect, in comparison with those primitive men. Let’s see, a “ranking” with the legends of the most sought treasures and never found
The legend has it that an ancient tribe of the indigenous people of Colombia, faithful believers in the God of water, they offered large amounts of gold in honor of their God; this gold was thrown into a lagoon called “Guatavita”, located in the eastern range of the Gran Colombia and it is said that at the bottom of the lake lie large quantities of gold, then, the Treasure of the lake “Guatavita”, is the first on our list.
On the other hand, it is said that previously and due to the disruptive attempts of the Nazis in time of dictatorship, by plunder and ransack the houses of the inhabitants of those conquered peoples, threw to the lake “Toplitz”, located in Austria, a large quantity of jewelry and works of art belonging to the people affected by their acts. These European treasures that were stolen by the Nazis, occupy second place in our list of treasures never found.
In third place and according to the story, in times where the boats carried cargoes and treasures from America to Europe; a Spanish vessel named “Our Lady of Atocha”, brought with it many of these treasures on 6 December 1622, date on which was wrecked by the passage of a powerful hurricane near the Florida Keys during its return to Spain; losing a large part of the cargo with a booty of 27 kilos of emeralds, 17 tons of silver, 35 boxes of gold and 128 thousand coins that now lie beneath the depth of the ocean. In 1985 only part of the loot was recovered by the American Mel Fisher.
For the fourth and last place, we left the great treasure of Lima (Peru). The legend says that after a important mission assigned to the captain Williams Thompson in 1820, to who was delegated the task of moving the riches of Lima and take them to Mexico, hid the chests somewhere on the Cocos Islands, next to Costa Rica. It is estimated that the treasure included jewelry, precious stones and gold coins. According to rumors, the former president of the US, Franklin Roosevelt, sought the chests for a long time.
