Among the many challenges of eating healthier foods is the fact that healthy food is usually more expensive than junk food. Fortunately, Dr. Satchidananda Panda shows that it is possible to lose weight without spending extra money.

“Many people do not have access to healthy food, because it tends to be more expensive than junk food”, but you can change the way you eat by changing the time you eat. In fact, a research made by Salk Institute, in California, proved that if you are used to eating at 4 PM, your body is prepared to burn calories in a specific time.

In other words, you can eat what you want if you know what time to eat it. Dr. Panda says that a person who manages to control his food intake in an 8-hour period, and does not eat anything after 4 pm, will lose as much weight as someone who goes on a strict diet.

“We can lose weight by limiting our eating period to 8 hours a day and not eating anything after 4 pm. When we eat is as important as what we eat. Limiting our diet to 8 hours a day and not eating at night helps us lose weight. ”

In an interview to the Daily Mail, specialist Ben Spencer said that, if you follow the 8-hour food intake period, “it doesn’t matter if you eat fatty foods or sweets.”

So how did the experts come to such conclusions? It all started when a research group fed two groups of mice a high-fat diet with the same amount of calories. The difference was that the first group was fed from 9am to 5pm, whereas the other group was fed all day long.

The mice whose intake was limited to 8-9 hours were able to reduce their body weight by 5% during the first days of the experiment, without reducing their calorie intake. Over time, they understood that our body functions in a particular way. It can predict when it is going to be fed and synchronize its digestive system to process food. Isn’t that incredible?
