In Lake Nicaragua on the island of Ometepec, two volcanoes called Maderas and Concepcion are located, this place is catalogued as the largest volcanic island inside a lake. The Maderas volcano is now considered extinct, and only takes part of the attractions of this island (good tourist option to visit), and its crater is occupied by a lagoon. Instead, the Concepción volcano activity continues, its last eruption with lava was in 1957, which caused the evacuation of the island, this volcano is surrounded by a large forest which protects it.
On the other hand, we have the Volcano Etna, located in Sicily, in the East Coast; is considered the world’s most famous active volcano, having constant volcanic activity, but despite this, many people live around it, due to the fertility of soils adjacent to the geological structure, its last eruption took place in May 2012.
Similarly; we cannot forget the volcanoes located in the famous Hawaiian Islands, as in the case of Mauna Loa, one of the 5 largest volcanoes that form the island of Hawaii, also one of the most active; being its last eruption in 1984. In the Philippines, we also find a huge and exotic volcano located in the city of Legazpi in this country. This volcano called Mount Mayon, is considered one of the most dangerous and destructive in the world, causing the death of over 1,200 people during their powerful eruptions in the past 200 years. Since its last eruption on May 7th, 2013, which killed five people, including; a couple of young Spanish.
In Spain, on the Canary island of Tenerife; we also find a vast geological structure, called El Teide; ranked as the highest peak in this country and being one of the three largest volcanoes in the world. It had no eruptions that have caused any significant damage. This volcano is the main attraction of the Teide National Park. However, several studies claim that in the future could have major eruptions because its structure is well established. Now that you have volcanoes to choose, you will be captivated with any of them!
