Symbols establish a relationship of identity, as a rhetorical figure of thoughts, through which a reality of a spiritual nature is expressed through a physical reality. The symbol is used to represent, somehow, an idea that you perceive through your senses, representing accepted conventions at the social level.

Every symbol has different characteristics in its presentation mode. Among the different types of symbols, you can differentiate the icon, which has been the sign that replaces the object by their similarity. Also, the index symbol or indicated, characterized by chance. What is more, symbols are manifestations of our thoughts which represent a social convention and it tends to be arbitrary.

However, there are also others who have been perpetuated and it identifies you immediately, such as the one that is assigned to Peace, to the Red Cross, the cross for Christians, the Ying and Yang, among others.

Nevertheless, the mythological symbol has a hierophantic dimension, which is a simple or complex manifestation of the sacred, indicating that each symbol that has been used by different cultures and traditions, are replaced in a personal and individual dimension. Each symbol is exclusively assigned and it has a unique and unrepeatable meaning; so, it is impossible to profane the shape, design and creation.

In terms of Kabbalah, you might wear a symbol for protection or simply for wearing a red bracelet around your wrist; the important is to select the most striking medallion with the figure, sign or symbol with the personal meaning of your choice.

The medallion is a round or square, with metallic texture ornament, used by both, men and women, as a personal pledge. Regularly, they are attached to chains, with a significance of its own.

The Egyptians used the medallion in the form of square pieces with figures of animals, like hawks and vultures; and their wings were always shown outstretched in flight. This ornament was also used by the Assyrians, displayed in a cross-shape and wore only by the wealthy class. And so on, the Greeks, the Etruscans and Romans, followed the same religious customs that are still valid today.

Interestingly, the Romans used medallions in bull shapes with a small round and oval box, giving a mythological sense. In the commercial branch of our era, mainly in jewelry, you can see a variety of medallions ranging from the more expensive to the most economic; with colors and designs diversity: oval, square, triangular, polygonal and octagonal; worked with pure and impure materials.

It does not matter if you use a Kabbalah medallion for protection or just for the pleasure; this may be the symbol that identifies you, and makes a difference when carrying it. The important is for you to choose the best look and reconcile with your personality and taste.
