The French prosecutor Francois Molins, indicated that Abdelhamid Abaaoud, pointed out as for being “the mastermind” of the attacks in Paris, died last Wednesday during raids on Saint Denis, north of that country, special operating that was carried out in the search for people that would be linked to the wave of attacks that killed 129 people.
The body of Abaaoud was identified by his fingerprints, who was one of the two people who died in the operation in the north of Paris, in which were captured 8 individuals related to terrorist act that surprised that country last Friday.
An official statement pointed out that: “Abdelhamid Abaaoud, has just been formally identified, after papillary compare fingerprints (fingerprints of hands or feet), as one of the deceased in the attack carried out by the RAID (elite unit of the French police), in the Corbillon Street of Saint-Denis at night of 18 November”.
His body was found riddled with bullet wounds and submachine gun in the building raided by the police, according to the official report says that is not entirely clear if the young jihadist was made blown up himself with a bomb.
When it was known the death of terrorist leader, the Interior Minister of France, Bernard Cazeneuve’s, gave a press conference, in which he said: “Abaaoud played a decisive role in the attacks in Paris. The Republic is doing everything to destroy terrorism” he also stated that: “The raids of the wednesday had one goal and that goal was achieved”.
According to official sources, the investigations have gone through an arduous process for the collection of key information for the case, data were verified numerous times, to obtain reports which will lead us to those responsible for the massacre in Paris. Initially it was thought that Abaaoud was in Syria, but the investigations led a surprise raid with participation of military forces early Wednesday.
Recently a French Twitter account, which is presumed that is administered from territories controlled by the Islamic State and used by the terrorist group, recognized the death of Abaaoud. About the jihadist it is known that he was of Moroccan origin and was 28 years old, the individual had been captured by videos of the Islamic State threatening to carry out attacks against Europe.
Among the dead on the operating in the Saint Denis, was a woman who was carrying a bomb vest, which she detonated it by being surprised by the police. The same was identified as Hasna Aitboulahcen of 26 years and proved to be Abaaoud’s cousin.
It was known that the group was planning to carry out other terrorist attacks against Charles de Gaulle and the shopping center Quartre Temps, in La Defense, a financial district in the west of Paris. By what it was avoided another tragic incident that had claimed the lives of many people.
