Buddhism is being studied by many people lately, some follow it as a religion, others as a philosophy and others as a psychology, but what is certain is that its effect is spreading in society, many people believe in it today. One of the most common beliefs about Buddhism is karma and its twelve laws, and today we are going to explain it so that you can apply it in the course of your daily routine.
Karma is defined as that law of cause and effect, it means that everything you do in your life will return to you. A law of the universe that seems to be totally true, because all that energy that we invest in our physical, mental and verbal actions, is accumulating to create our future, can even happen during several lives or in reincarnation.
The difference between Buddhism and other religions is that one does not believe in a specific God, simply everything depends on the good or evil that each person does. Everything comes from nature and the decisions that the person makes, assuming his responsibility and consequences. It is said that karma is composed of the following laws:
- Essential law or law of cause and effect: All that is given, is what is received, especially those negative actions are multiplied by ten times. Whatever we give the universe, it will give back to us.
- Law of creation: What we want comes through participation, therefore the human being is connected to the universe and his obligation is to become involved in all the cycles of life.
- Law of Humility: Refusing to accept the reality will not make this change.
- Law of growth: Our own growth is above all circumstances.
- Law of responsibility: You are the reflection of what you do, therefore you must accept the consequences with responsibility and not blame others.
- Law of connection: Everything in the Universe is connected, both the small and the big things
- Law of the approach: We cannot direct our action beyond a single activity.
- Law of generosity: Demonstrating our lack of interest shows our true intentions.
- Law of the here and now: The present is all that we have.
- Law of change: History repeats itself unless it is changed.
- The Law of Patience and Reward: Nothing of value is created without a patient mentality.
- Law of importance and inspiration: The best reward is the one that contributes to the Whole.
These are the 12 laws of karma, and if you follow them, you will be able to live in a calmer way, connecting with peace and spirituality, creating changes that will promote the development of wisdom, awareness and goodness, also achieving a state of enlightenment and totally positive changes.
