Easter eggs are a tradition in many countries of Europe and the United States. These eggs are a typical gift for Christmas and mean long life.

We owe the creation of these eggs to Peter Carl Fabergé, who thankfully followed his footsteps to his father becoming a great jeweler. When he was in Moscow in 1882, Peter participated in many art competitions, where he earned the first place. The great talent of this young man caught the attention of Tsar Alexander III, who hired him to make an Easter egg, which he would give to Tsarina Marina.

This jewel turned into gold egg, was so successful that the Tsar decided to give golden eggs every year. When the emperor died, his son Tsar Nicholas II, who was fascinated this tradition made by his father, decides to continue it every Sunday from Easter tradition, and give one to his mother and one to his wife Tsarina Alexandra. Each of these eggs were made differently, they were unique, a jewel full of unparalleled beauty.

Each of these eggs contains surprises and special gifts. They were bathed in gold and inlaid with precious stones of high quality. The designs of these eggs were trying to simulate nature in colors, flowers, animals and insects, typical of the “nouveau” art that was so fashionable at the time.
