The legend of the Holy Grail is undoubtedly one of the most amazing and mysterious in the history of Christianity. It is famous for being the cup that Jesus used at the Last Supper, a story told in the Bible and very represented in art.

In the Holy Book is spoken of how the last meeting made by Jesus with his disciples developed, to make a sort of farewell before he was sacrificed. This fact was one of the most analyzed by historians and other religions, as each has a different belief of why the cup was so appreciated. At this dinner were fulfilled two prophecies that God had made known to her son Jesus: the first of these prophecies was the highly named betrayal of Judas, when he was able to sell Jesus for a few coins.

It is believed that this was done because the god of darkness had possessed the body of Judas to carry out this terrible betrayal. The second design that was fulfilled was that of Peter, when he denied being a faithful follower of God’s son three times. The Holy Grail, in addition to being at the dinner, was the cup used to collect the blood and water that flowed from the wounds of Jesus. It is said that this cup was possessed by several guardians and was hidden to never be found thus concealing many secrets.

The great uncertainty generated by the history of this cup, has led to various legends that tell great and interesting stories. One of the legends about this chalice notes that the Knights Templar had it in their possession. The Templars were warriors and holy men who allegedly were responsible of taking care of it. This is one of the stories more named by historians of Christianity.

Another legend says that this not even exists, but Jesus is referred as Holy Grail to a woman in particular. Mary Magdalene would be that woman who some scholars believe was the Holy Grail apparently she and Jesus had an affair. However, everything has been left into fiction and served the American writer Dan Brown to give you a knot in his novel The Da Vinci Code, awakening a new interest in the origin and destination of the alleged cup.

It is said that the glass is in the Cathedral of Valencia, Spain, but many theories and stories among many doubt that this is the real one and that actually is located there. Do you think that this even exists?
