France is known the world over for its exquisite cuisine and Paris restaurants in particular are no exception. Undoubtedly, a distinction that makes them worthy of hundreds of compliments, making them a synonym for everything that has to do with culinary art. Not surprisingly, French gastronomic schools, their experts and their delicious dishes are always mentioned as inspiration when referring to good food.
For these reasons, going to Paris and not enjoying its gastronomy would be the greatest of sins, so we decided to bring a small list of the best restaurants in the city with and without Michelin stars. A difficult task considering that there are approximately more than 15 thousand restaurants in the city, so it is possible that not as many as we would like are.
Epicure
This is certainly not one of the best restaurants in Paris and one of the most famous thanks to its rating of three Michelin stars. Located near the Champs Elysées, it has an additional outdoor space ideal for celebrating space occasions and its specialty is French food served in a very elegant way. This place is characterized by being very exclusive, for this reason men must dress very formally, the use of jackets is mandatory, while the use of a tie is optional.
Le Meurice
This great restaurant, which according to The Daily Meal is one of the 10 most expensive restaurants in the world and has three Michelin stars in its score. Its chef Alain Ducasse is an iconic character of French gastronomy and the place is set in the Salon de la Paix de Chäteau of the Palace of Versailles, where he serves the three main meals of the day which can be enjoyed with a beautiful view.
Pré Catelan
Our third recommendation to eat in Paris is the Pré Catelan restaurant which, in addition to offering exquisite food, is located in Bois Boulogne, a Parisian park larger than Hyde Park or Central Park. Like the aforementioned restaurants, it has a Three-Michelin-star rating and its gastronomic offer is served in a beautiful room with mirrors and chandeliers that create an atmosphere of supreme elegance.
Le Bouillon Chartier
Understanding that not all pockets can be adapted to the aforementioned restaurants, we also bring as a recommendation a restaurant that by the Parisian standard is inexpensive, offering excellent quality food served in a very pleasant atmosphere. This is the type of place that if we have not looked at its menu we would think it is expensive, since it has a very well-developed infrastructure. The menu is very varied and has strong dishes and very varied entries typical of French gastronomy, executed with a good hand.
Pantruche
This is a beautiful and cosy bistro-style restaurant, offering excellent quality at a very good price, making it a favourite with many. Its gastronomic offer is based on classic French cuisine dishes, but with a creative touch that captivates its diners. In addition, it has a classic decoration in the best style of the 30s that configures the right environment to taste its excellent contemporary menu.
Pavillon ledoyen
This is one of the historical restaurants in Paris and with more baggage in the gastronomic scene of this city, because important people like Napoleon Bonaparte have passed through this establishment. For what in itself is a gastronomic symbol of Paris, located in the gardens of the Champs Elysées and not in vain did it obtain three Michelin stars in 2017. This establishment offers an exquisite proposal for lunch and dinner, although we warn you that its three-star menu can cost 380 euros.
Les Climats
For lovers of Burgundy wine and good gastronomy, this is one of the restaurants in Paris that you cannot miss. With a star, this restaurant has been added since 2015 to the prestigious Michelin guide and offers you a great experience, as it has fine cuisine in a warm atmosphere, with very elegant Art Nouveau decoration. It only opens Tuesday through Saturday and its price range ranges from $ 39 to $ 163.
Le Rech
Just two minutes from the Champs Elysées is this restaurant that has become an inescapable destination, and we dare say that it is one of the best restaurants in Paris, when it comes to fish and seafood. Dishes that are the stars of this cosy and elegant place, whose proposal is exquisite cuisine with a Mediterranean touch. And the best thing is that their dishes can be enjoyed from 44 euros.
Restaurant H
Very close to La Bastilla we find one of the restaurants in Paris that has one of the simplest and most welcoming proposals, with retro-futuristic decor and creative cuisine that is far from current trends, presented on three different menus. Although it does not stop fitting into modern gastronomy, it is not surprising that it is valued among the best in Paris. It has a medium price range that goes from 35 to 80 euros.
Eels
Among the restaurants in Paris, it is one of those that offers French cuisine with different and very pleasant flavours, having as its star dish the smoked eel with apples and hazelnuts. Hence came its name from the English “eel” which means eel. The average price ranges from 34 to 60 euros.
As you can see, we do not necessarily have to go to a Michelin-starred restaurant to enjoy the most delicious French food, since in all corners of the city we will find interesting proposals that include succulent crepes, croissants, fondues and all kinds of delicacies. typical of its gastronomy; options that will undoubtedly make us rave at any time of the day. And when it comes to main dishes, most restaurants are eager to offer the most varied and exquisite gastronomic offer.
