The use of symbols in the various religions is due to the need for an identification feature in each of them, given a strong influence framed in a firm meaning that carries history, culture, power and a rooted faith that leads to total dependence.

For Catholic Christians; the Cross is the oldest symbol and its use dates back BC, when it was used as a form of punishment and torture for those who did not meet certain established laws; however, once that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, his believers have worn it as a symbol of Christian faith and identification.

But for practitioners of Buddhism and Hinduism the Om or Pranava is a symbol representing one of their many powerful and main Gods as is Brahman and its connotation regarding the whole universe; and the Dharma representing a broad terminology of the religion.

As for Muslims, the moons and the stars are the most representative symbols of this entrenched Islamic religion. For example, it is very clear to see them in the flags of some countries under this belief; Turkey being one of them, because takes on its flag a crescent moon accompanied by a star.
Also, the Rub el Hizb these are two overlapping squares representing the sacred book of the Islam named the end of a chapter; and also the symbol can be seen in some countries flags and emblems belonging to practitioners of that religion.

In the case of Judaism, between one of its most representative symbols we have the star of David, which in turn consists of six stars; framing a magical and mysterious power from their beginnings to the present day! So much so that it is carried as a lucky charm. Its symbolism focuses on protecting David (King of Israel).

Similarly, the Menorah is a representation of burning bushes that make up a seven-branched candelabrum, due to an appearance that had the prophet Moses on his way to Mount Sinai. It is a widely used symbol in the rituals of Judaism.

This is how the symbols identify and represent the beliefs of the people, influencing their behavior through its meanings and In this way shaping the religious culture of nations and the whole world.
