The murder of another African American man by police custody in the United States during an incident in Minneapolis, Minnesota, has caught the discomfort and discontent in that city. The black citizen died after being shot in the head during a confrontation with the police force.

The youth was identified as Jamar Clark, 24, he was in intensive care after being shot in the head last Sunday. Police said he was suspected of assault and had interfered with doctors attending to a victim when he was shot. However, some witnesses said at the moment of the fact he was handcuffed.

The protesters have been camping at the police station for two days, blocking a main street, as a rejection of police action that took the life of Jamar. Last Monday at night, 51 of the participants in these protests were arrested.

A police spokesman gave details about the shooting against Clark and denied the versions that indicated that the victim was handcuffed when he was shot. The protest began shortly after the mayor Betsy Hodges made a request to the federal government to initiate an investigation into possible violations of civil rights.

Although the protesters showed their appreciation for the federal research, they said they would continue protests until it is found a video that reveals what happened, this must be reported to identify those responsible for the crime. However, the Chief of Police said that officers at the time of the procedure did not carry cameras in their uniforms, but did not offer details about the existence of some video in the patrol or somewhere else.

So far there are two officers involved, who were decommissioned with payment, a normal procedure when these cases occur. According to information from the police, the protests began last Sunday, when authorities were called in northern Minnesota, after receiving the report of an assault.

When officers arrived, they saw Clark interfering when doctors were attending to a victim, they wanted to calm him down, but a struggle occurred in the midst of the confusion there was a shot. The boy’s father, told local media that his son had been shot in the left eye. The brother said that on Monday the whole family gathered at the hospital to make the decision to disconnect the apparatus that kept him alive.

In the United States is not the first time a situation like this is registered, however there are several incidents in which police have fired on black citizens in irregular facts recorded, which has triggered protests across the country, as rejection the authorities excessive force against the African American community.
