In light of this, we believe it is necessary to know what these foods are and what benefits they bring to our body:
Organic foods: Are those products: vegetables, fruits, dairy and meat; which along its cultivation, growing and processing have not been exposed to fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides and have not been genetically altered. In the case of animals they fed organically and they have not been treated with hormones or antibiotics.
As an example of some foods that can be produced organically we have: vegetables, fruits, meat, pigs, chickens, turkeys, fish, etc. One way to differentiate them is the presentation, as there are perfectly packaged but it comes with a label that certifies it as organic.
The main benefits provided by organic foods are more nutritious to keep all the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants; strengthen the immune system, particularly of children, protecting us from allergies and diseases; promote fertility, since they have not been treated with pesticides, responsible for infertility and also are environmentally friendly.
Whole foods: These are foods that have not undergone the refining process, thereby conserving all their physicochemical properties. Although usually they are associated only to cereals as wheat, maize, rice or oats; they can also be included in this classification legumes, vegetables and fruits such as soybeans, lentils, chickpeas, broccoli, carrot, apple, kiwi, among others.
Amongst the benefits of eating whole foods we are: higher energy intake to the body, as its high fiber converts fat into energy; improves digestion, thereby aiding the elimination of toxic and carcinogenic substances; and lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and atherosclerosis.
