Three letters that mean a lot; NLP: the healing power of words, which is the same as “Neurolinguistics Programming”, which is the implementation of mechanisms that are based on the power of words. How many of us have been involved in a sea of affirmations or expressions, which we repeat insistently, and which could be harming our mind and our body?

We know that words are the form of expression of thought and that we communicate through them what we think about a certain topic, situation or event; they are vibrations of energy that affect our performance in each of the areas where we operate, for which we must take special care when making use of them.

According to the principles of Neurolinguistics Programming, each of the words or phrases that we repeat constantly represent an energetic vibration that affects one way or another in what happens to us, either positively or negatively. Hence the importance of not allowing ourselves to be enveloped by pessimism and to repeat words or phrases that attract situations or conflicts that create disharmony in our lives, which in turn can cause physical and / or emotional ailments that definitely affect our quality of life.

So, if words have power, let’s use them correctly, because as well as you can make the physical, mental and emotional bodies sick, you can also heal them. Consequently, by using positive phrases, such as I am healthy, my body is in perfect condition, my body is free of diseases, among many other affirmations we are opening the doors to health.

Therefore, we must begin by replacing negative thoughts and words with positive thoughts and words; we must eliminate from our vocabulary expressions such as: I feel bad, I am sick, I am useless, I cannot heal, etc., since such phrases will only bring greater discomforts and ailments, which are somatised by the body through the involvement of the mental and emotional system, which is related and directly impact on physical health.

At the beginning it may be difficult to change your belief system, but if you do it faithfully and consistently, your level of motivation will increase when you see the satisfactory results; once this is achieved, it will be much easier for you to strengthen your new belief system and will use the Neurolinguistics Programming in your day to day, since you can change not only situations of physical illness, but also states of mind, improvement of conflictive relationships, thus healing the spirit and becoming more cheerful and optimistic.

The basis of this whole process is “to believe”, because if you do not have the conviction that you can transform reality, you cannot access to the necessary information to obtain the expected results. It is also important to clarify that this process will be as fast as your desire, your intentions and the sincerity of your thoughts and words.

We must make an effort to change the paradigm and break schemes, creating a new belief system, where Neurolinguistics Programming should have a place of importance in your priorities, once this is achieved, we are sure that the path will be easier, until you change your life totally and making change the people who are around you.

But if the people around you resist change and do not want to accept that words have healing power from a physical, mental and emotional point of view to the point of transforming realities of life, then they must follow their evolutionary path individually; but you never leave the lane because of the people who are incredulous; show them with facts that your convictions and new belief system is effective and above all positive.

Only then you can choose a happy and harmonious life, where the disease is not welcome, and if it comes, it will have a strong opponent that will attack it until it is eliminated through effective tools, where the mind and positive words are fundamental to block the negative effects of the environment.

All this process that NLP or Neurolinguistics Programming activates for our well-being represents itself a discipline through which has tried to explain the way how our brain works in order to be able to find the precise definitions of mind patterns.

Therefore, by having the necessary information about these patterns and functioning of the brain, we are able to know ourselves, to evaluate the thoughts, expressions, attitudes and behaviours that are affecting us, and once recognized and accepted, we can then change them with the use of techniques and specific methods that will improve our communication skills.

Within these techniques and methods are the so-called reframing, visualization, timeline, the change of history, and mind maps among others, which will help us to reprogram ourselves positively to achieve the objectives and goals set out according to our life projects or for any micro objective related to any situation that we want to improve.

This is how, through NLP or Neurolinguistics Programming, we can acquire full awareness of the appropriate language we should use, of the expressions and affirmations that reinforce our positive side and that we need to achieve satisfactory results at a personal, family and social level, starting from the premise that communication in its different forms is fundamental to optimize our personal relationships and achieve important and transcendental changes in our lives through a dynamic model that allows us to understand the ideal way in which the human being communicates with himself and with his environment.

Therefore, Neurolinguistics Programming (NLP) comes to represent an effective tool to change paradigms, which was developed for the first time in the seventies in the United States, by the computer specialist and psychotherapist Richard Bandler and John Grinder, university professor in the chair of linguistics at the University of Santa Cruz in California.

These researchers achieved satisfactory results when analysing the differences between the professors of chairs attended by few students and those whose classes were filled, although all had a similar level of preparation and knowledge.

In this way, in order to explain why these differences existed, they began to study the methods used by professionals classified as excellent in their profession, most of them communicators and therapists, such as Milton Erickson, creator of the Ericksonian hypnosis and specialist in Clinical Hypnosis; Virginia Satir, pioneer in Systemic Family Therapy; Fritz Perls, Creator of Gestalt Therapy and Gregory Bateson, anthropologist and pioneer in social and verbal sciences, among others.

After developing this research, Bandler and Grinder systematized the similar mind patterns in these professionals, managing to identify effective patterns of excellence that could later be used by any other person in order to evaluate whether these patterns yielded satisfactory results such as those obtained by professionals before mentioned.

All this process of analysis, interpretation and systematization of patterns was considered a discipline, which they called Neurolinguistics Programming, NLP, because the term programming is derived from mathematics and cybernetics, and therefore we are programmed by the memories and learning that we acquire through experiences and the belief system, so that we have in our brain mental programs and behavioural patterns on which we operate.

On the other hand, the term “Neuro” is part of the name of this discipline because in the process of the flow of information we are able to deactivate programs executed by neural networks and also activate other more positive programs that allow changing paradigms.

Finally, the linguistic word owes its use to the fact that a system of questions based obviously on the language we dominate is necessary in order to reach deeper knowledge of individuals and their dominant patterns.

They used the modelling technique, which is the observation and systematization of processes to recreate these specific success behaviours. They systematized the patterns so that anyone can learn them and reach similar successful results.

In this way, the linguistic meta-model of the NLP of Bandler and Grinder has represented a model of precision, which uses language in order to deepen the knowledge of the person and his mind map, which according to its authors, consists of patterns that are divided into categories:

The first category is omissions, distortions and generalizations of information which are present when prioritizing certain information and obviating what we consider less important (omissions); changing the information to our convenience (distortion), or drawing general conclusions based on previous experiences to understand reality, which represent the basis of the basic learning processes.

The second category is represented by the representational systems, which explain from the perspective of Neurolinguistics Programming, NLP, the existence of three forms of perception of the world, which are: the visual one, which corresponds to the people who especially watch visual details and, therefore, their memories take the form of images; the auditory one that identifies the people whose memories are based on words and sounds; and the kinaesthetic one, through which the memories come from bodily sensations, such as : gustatory, olfactory, tactile.

However, we make use of all the senses to achieve the processing of information, even though we have a predominant representational system, in order to elaborate our mind map with our own system of beliefs and thoughts, which we can replace at the moment we decide and we become aware of what is not working well in our environment; and therefore, we decide to change it through a new system of thoughts and words, which have a really effective healing power; thus being able to heal not only our mental and emotional body, but also the physical one.
