This wonderful creation, was not always in the hands of its first founder, in fact, did not even possess these architectural wonders until it fell into the hands of the emperor Pachacutec, who expedited in a glorious way this dynasty.

There was a federation called Ayarmaca, main enemies of the first Incas, who lived in this city, and who were responsible of different attacks on people.

This historic village, was only known for its inhabitants, but since the historian Hiram Bingham discovered it, was exposed to the world. Thus with the help of different organizations and the Peruvian government, Bingham could start their archaeological work. By removing all the weeds that covered the ruins, were discovered several tombs of the habitants of this small town, which is quite amazing to see.

Upon discovery of this city, it became the maximum tourist attraction of Peru, besides being one of the largest heritages left by the Incas in the world, Amazing, isn’t? However, before this famous archaeologist came to the land of Machu Picchu, nine years ago were discovered by Augustine Lizarra, a tenant of land in that area.

There are very strong beliefs that this city was built taking into account astronomical and ritual criteria. Some of the architectural buildings were aligned with the “solar azimuth,” nothing accidental.

The construction of this building was done mostly with white granite. Most of the buildings were made in rectangular forms, in its outskirts can be appreciated different paths made by the Incas, you can reach to different Inca complexes. Among these buildings, there is one of great interest called “Temple of the Moon”, where through these roads also can be reached; this temple is located on top of the mountain.
