Since curiosity is part of human nature and we always look for or want to know extraordinary things, it is necessary to look beyond the ordinary; ignore the normal and seek new horizons to surprise us. We could say that the Karakash River is still unknown, which you should definitely visit and the most amazing aspect of this fascinating stretch of water, It is that it has been home to one of the most valuable stones that may exist, such as the Jade, considered by the East as the dried semen of the Dragon. In this river, lie countless amounts of black tone Jade; this is why below we invite you to learn all about it.

The Karakash River, the main source of black Jade, is located in the People’s Republic of China, in the autonomous region Xinjiang Uyghur through the mountains of Kunlum and runs through the Tlakamakan desert, leading to the Hotan river.

Jade comes to this body of water, first, because the river is fed by the melting ice from the mountains, causing an erosion effect that contributes in its formation and allowing it to get detached. In this regard, when the snow is accumulated, moves and gets to the bottom of the mountain and the natural Jade falls in the company of melted snow, accumulating in the river bottom; and because of the difficulty of extracting the Jade from the top of the mountains, this natural event facilitates extraction, so this river is the main cradle of Black Jade.

This precious stone is exported from the Karakash River valleys, a place that has served as a route for good north-south trade between Yarkand, city located in the People’s Republic of China and the District of Leh. Due to the proximity of the river with the Tlakamakan desert, where life is limited and is not visited much by tourists, many travelers and brave hearts adventurers have dared to wander and explore this territory.

Jade has been very appreciated stone by Oriental people and this is evident in their inlaid decorations, an example of this we have the tomb of their emperors. Also they use to make outfits to dress the deceased; this took place during the Han Dynasty. Currently the value of this rock is still in force by the Chinese culture and beliefs like the many magical and medicinal properties. This is a mysterious and interesting place to meet right? Do not miss the opportunity to do so and conquer a Black Jade.
