One of the most important items on the life of a woman’s bra. They wear it every day to give support to her chest, and it is usual that women have a favorite one that wearing more than others, either because it is the one that best suits her or simply because she feels “beautiful” with it. But did you know that the bra has an expiration date?

Strangely enough, bra is not a garment that will last a lifetime, and so as the food has an expiration date, intimate apparel also has. If you did not know, perhaps not have an idea how to know if you need to replace your bras. Here are a few tips and guidelines for knowing when and how to renew your lingerie.

A woman should get fitted for a bra at least twice a year (every six months).  During this time, it’s important to try on all of your bras to make sure each one of them fit.  Anything that is uncomfortable, feels like it is not supporting you or has been overly washed or stretched should be tossed in the garbage.

Another sign that it is time to discard her bra, is when the straps are not tight and elastic. If they feel loose, they aren’t in place, and when you are wearing the bra tend to slip, do not continue using it.

Due to the constant washing of the garment it is tends to stretch and lose its shape and generally the most affected part of the bra is the cup. If placing your bra you see that the cup is seamless to the shape of your breasts, you should discard immediately as it is not fulfilling its function; also wear a bra with a cup that does not fit esthetically causes the effect of a fallen breast.

If you have gained or lost weight recently, it’s possible that the band which is riding up between your shoulder blades had worn out and is no longer providing the support you need. Throw it out. If the bra is new, you should look to be resized. Bodies change shape in ways we sometimes don’t notice and being fitted can help you make the right size purchase when you go to buy new bras.

Pay attention to this, what color was your bra? If the color has drained from your bra and looks a dingy grey, get rid of it.

Underwear can make you feel “beautiful” when a woman wears it, but can feel sensual wearing a faded garment or damaged?

Every few months, check on your bra inventory. If your favorite bras are worn out you just need to replace them. Don’t suffer in an uncomfortable, dead bra. Take good care of your bras and replace them when they have expired. Having a drawer full of ready-to-wear bras will make getting dressed and looking your best so easy, so what woman does not like to go shopping?
