The island of dolls. We started with the place, perhaps the most horrible of all, located in Mexico. Any girl and parent would stop liking dolls just by looking at the place where a hermit named Julián Santana Barrera lived. The legend has it that one day the man found a small girl floating in the sea who had no life, he felt devastated and scared for having witnessed such a tragedy, so to scare away the spirit of the girl, he decided to place dolls, which he found thrown away, hanging from the trees. In 2001 they say they found in the same place where the girl was found, the hermit dead.

Since then it has been considered a tourist stop, to contemplate the wide collection of dolls, however people say they feel they are being watched. When the man lived, some visitors passed by the island to meet it and some gave him their dolls, many came to have the same belief that the hermit helped to make the crops prosperous.

The Old Belchite. It is an old town in Spain, located in Aragon, which is actually the remains that the Civil War of 1936 left, where with the passage of time, buildings have been falling apart. Many people die to know it but just think that a ghost appears or a structure collapses by touching it, makes them not feel like going there. The story tells that after the catastrophe it was not rebuilt, but rather, a new town nearby called “New Belchite” was created, with the same name, by order of the dictator Francisco Franco.

It has been uninhabited more than 50 years, those who visit it have experiences that give goosebumps, because there are those who say that it is haunted. The people who can know the town, are those that go with tourist intentions, because it is not a busy or public place, and the only thing they can see are unstable infrastructures, deserted streets, strange shadows, even sensations in which they feel they are not alone.

The Island of Gunkanjima. In the Asian continent there are always legends of extraordinary places, where this island of Japan stands out. It seems like the location of a movie, that although it is not immensely large, it’s easy to get lost in it. It was a mining settlement that was inhabited between 1887 and 1974. After the announcement of the closing of the mine, the inhabitants began to leave, letting the commerce decay until its total breakdown and abandonment of the island. They say that the last one did it 1974.

The island was left with a lagoon of buildings and structures that have been falling apart, also it has a museum built in the 60s that due to the conditions to which it is exposed, it is falling apart, because around it there are large parts of its structure, be careful, you can be hit by some ruins when you visit it. They say that in homes there are still everyday objects, such as dishes, furniture, appliances, that maybe at some point you can hear strange sounds of these crashing into something.

The City of Prípiat. Taking a walk around Ukraine, you cannot miss seeing this spooky place. It is almost impossible that you have not heard about the Chernobyl disaster in 1986, when a nuclear reactor exploded and contaminated the territory with radioactive substances, which forced the citizens to leave. This settlement is a reminder of the lack of confidence that citizens have towards the government.

The story tells that with the impact time literally paralyzed, since the clocks remained static. This city was incredibly beautiful, it even housed more than 40 thousand people, having entertainment places like cafes, cultural centers, amusement parks that are still there, full of dross, spider webs and rust where only ghosts have fun. Since the incident the stay of people there has not been allowed, because even radiation is present, however, it can be visited if tourists accept the conditions.

Oradour-sur-Glane. Hidden in France, the town is still intact, after one of the most important massacres in history, led by a Nazi criminal. These ruthless people killed most of the inhabitants, women and children were the most wanted. It was not rebuilt by orders of former French Prime Minister Charles de Gaulle, to remember the evil that ran through the veins of the Nazis. It is a tourist place nowadays, it allows a pleasant, relaxing and surprising walk, because there are even cars there, which are rusty. People say that at night, you can see ghosts or terrifying spirits.

Kolmanskop. It is a place located in Namibia, a country of southern Africa. It was built for those German miners who loved to look for diamonds. Interestingly in that antiquity, gems were easy to find and people could have a large amount of money without much effort digging as they do today. Although they were rich in diamonds, they fell little by little after the First World War and because of this the German locality became desolate. The surprising thing is the homes full of sand, making it a silent, unique and strange place that only brave people can visit. They say that some miners took the diamonds and swallowed them to use them later for personal use, which was illegal, so they were monitored by cameras.

Humberstone. In Latin America it is located an old town of Chile, in the middle of the desert, like the previous one, it is a mining town that takes the name from the engineer James Humberstone. It was a rich place in the potassium nitrate compound, but for circumstances its economy declined. You could say that it is a half-ghost town, since a very small number of people live there. A curious fact, the commune is located in Chile, just on the borders with Peru and Bolivia. You will find that it is a very quiet place with some structures undone by the years, if you hear something it may be an inhabitant or maybe not.

Port Arthur. This town in Tasmania, Australia is perhaps one of the most sinister. It was the home of the worst criminals in the history of Port Arthur, in 1996 a disaster was unleashed in which a single man with mental problems finished with crowds firing left and right. Although it was a terrible event, it was like a lesson for the government not to allow the use of weapons. Nowadays it has a high tourist entrance, and many of them leave frightened because they believe they have heard furious voices, chimes, shouts or claim to have seen specters.

Bodie. Another old mining town, but the most famous in the United States. It is a spooky place with some buildings in good condition and others devastated. In it there are attractive objects that if a person is brave, she can take it; however, she would commit the worst mistake of her life, since the ghosts that inhabit there persecute the robbers. It was an active gold mining settlement, which began to decline in the 19th century, and because of this, the workers were not satisfied with their profits, so they decided to look elsewhere; another cause was the climate, because the winters were raw and the miners died, as well as the insecurity in the excavations.
