The French president addressed the nation to discuss the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, made by young jihadists belonging to ISIS, and send a message of national unity. During his speech, Hollande said that “terrorism will not damage the soul of France” and will ask the French Parliament a draft law to extend the state of emergency for three months.
At a special session of both houses of Parliament, Hollande spoke about the need to modify the French constitution, he said his country needs “a proper tool to use without invoke to the state of emergency.”
During his speech he said: “France is at war. We will defend the security of our people. We will not be bowed by fear. We need to increase our resources and if we are at war we cannot keep using those of the past. ”
Hollande said, that it will strengthen the security forces to prevent further attacks. From Versailles, he said he will meet with the presidents of the United States and Russia, to join forces against ISIS also asserted that it is not about to contain the extremist group, as President Barack Obama commented, but to destroy it entirely.

Hollande emphasized that the unification of forces is necessary to fight against Syria, which is expected to meet with the presidents Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama in the coming days to discuss the strategies used.
