If you want to fill with positive energy and start the year off to a good start, do not hesitate and plan as soon as possible a visit to Los Roques, one of the best archipelagos in Venezuela. Consisting entirely of over 50 islands and cays, it was declared a National Park in 1972 to protect its full beauty and ecologically valuable marine ecosystem.
Besides having the most beautiful beaches in the country, the archipelago has a warm beautiful weather, most of the year with average annual temperatures 27 degrees Celsius, allowing its visitors to enjoy without any problem of the sun. In July and August months, the maximum temperature reaches 34 degrees and between September and January only occasional rainfall occurs.
If you are interested in boats, you can tilt by glider rides, paddleboat, catamaran and kayak. You can explore the coral and have contact with different species of animals through diving and sport fishing. Also if you seek adventure, you can go hiking or camping on sites intended for this activity.
In Los Roques there are several cays that can be visited to spend a day enjoying a fairy-tale location in beautiful beaches, among the most important cays are:
Francisquí: It is made up of three islets nearby known as bottom, middle and top. It is located on the north end of the park and is one of the biggest attractions of the archipelago, as it seems a natural pool where diving and “snorkeling” are practiced.
Madrisquí: Located southeast of the island of Gran Roque and is one of the most visited cays, as some inns are to cater tourists and there you can practice many activities such as diving and fishing.
Crasquí: Located southwest of Gran Roque and is part of the recreational areas of the archipelago, as in it the visitors, besides enjoying various species of birds and fishes, can make “surfing” and kayaking or sailing.
Cayo de agua: Located west of the National Park and its popularity is because it is a lonely island of white sand along with other keys, forming a natural pool of fresh water wells.
Most lodges from where the boats to the various keys are in the village of El Gran Roque, where you can also find the airport, a police station, a school, a Catholic Church, the only bank and a small stadium.
Los Roques is the ideal destination to relax and leave all your worries behind. If you need a break from everyday life, do not hesitate and visit this magical place where the beautiful blue sea will make you forget all your problems.
I was there once on vacation with a few friends, beautiful paradise, heaven on earth, and the people are very nice!
