Every day we are more and more astonished by fashion and its eccentricities. When we go out, we often see women that dress in ways that we cannot identify if what they are wearing are “rags” chosen randomly, pants or long skirts combined with eccentric colorful necklaces that don’t match at all.
We often see women in the morning dressed in very short, low-necked dresses that look as if they were sewn on the body, matching high heels of 10 or more centimeters and 5 cm platforms. And if you ask where they are going, they say they are going to the city center to do some shopping, grocery shopping or simply to work in a company. If you ask them why they dress like that, they answer: “because it is fashionable.”
If they are tattoo lovers, they have tattoos from head to toes, and they also wear piercings, horns, scales and any kind of possible creation that has the objective of showing a fashion style that started in prisons and ended on streets.
Japan is one of the places where style is even more radical and particular. There you will see different habits you won’t see anywhere else in the world. One example is Yaeba, which translates literally as “double tooth”. It is a dental procedure that sees the upper canines capped either permanently or temporarily. Another habit that is becoming more and more popular is couples who choose not to have sex, for the most unusual and bizarre reason: laziness.
In Mexico, changing the tip of the typical cowboy boots is quite trendy. The tip of the boots can become over a meter long and it can have different shapes and colors. In Japan, a game called “Pantsu Getta” became fashionable. The game consists on a girl publishing in a chat room that she has hidden her used underwear somewhere in the city, and the interested players go look for it until they find it.
In Asia, facekinis were very fashionable. They are ski masks, similar to those used by wrestlers, but with just one color. Women wear them on the beach to protect their faces from the sun. There are also the so-called “love pillows”, which are cushions with the picture of a man, or the female version, with different pictures on them. This has caused such a furor that one of the users has decided to marry his pillow.
The styles we see on the streets are very different from each other, but what they have in common is that they are all eccentric and extravagant. When people want to show they’re different from others, their imagination to change their appearance has no limits.
