Thursday, January 14th 2016. In a small town north of beautiful Italy, a marihuana flavored ice cream has been created; to honor the famous reggae singer Bob Marley, the most known and respected Jamaican performer in the world. The production of this delicious dessert will be based on hemp/cannabis seeds and will offer all the wonderful benefits of cannabis.
The ice cream will have many medicinal properties, thanks to the presence of lots of fatty acids; making this extraordinary creation an invaluable way to combat and prevent many diseases like arteriosclerosis, high cholesterol, arthrosis, respiratory disorders, eczema and the dreadful acne. This venture was created by the “Canapa Ligure” association, which stands out as a promoter of the medical benefits of cannabis all over the European country.
It’s evident that consumption of cannabis in Italy has been legalized, thanks to the Health and Defense Ministers; who signed a memo to create a “national production of cannabis based substances and mixes for medical and scientific purposes” pilot project in the year 2014; dedicated to the growing of plants chosen only by a military factory in the city of Florence.
In year 2015, the first experimental crop with over 50 cannabis plants could be appreciated; all of them selected by the Research Center for Rovigo Industrial Crops, which produced 2 kilograms of highly active sprouts of a really good quality and allowing the standardization of product free of mold, fungi and other contaminants. Thanks to the inspection, the Ministry of Health gave the green light for production.
Presently, over 200 square meters of greenhouse could be installed in order to obtain around 45 kilos of marihuana a year; which must be sent to the soliciting drugstores. In this way Italy could become the first and only country member of the United Nations to freely manage production of cannabis.
A positive outlook from the Ministry is also expected, along with assuming the great responsibility to adopt new rules for cannabis based medical prescriptions; since scientific research has proven that the good use of cannabis can help people with multiple sclerosis, lateral sclerosis, glaucoma, some neoplastic diseases, muscular spasms and chronic pain.
Thanks to the outstanding scientific research done, cannabis has become a great medicinal tool in Italy; but also a yummy ice cream that will no doubt, become very popular in many countries in the world, where the positive use of this plant becomes accessible for those people who just need “a hit”.
