Colombia is a coffee country, due to its widespread production and export of coffee, this being one of the best worldwide. Its fame and prestige for this product did locate one of the most important countries with coffee crops. Its good taste comes from the coffee plantation with excellent conditions with which the country is favored, based on the best climatic areas and the ideal soil fertility; and thanks to its special geographical location it has plenty of water, wind and solar radiation, enabling to meet certain requirements that warrants the planting of coffee.
As the most attractive features coffee areas there are: Antioquia which is the leading producer and exporter of coffee beans, being the most important and preferred by large foreign demands. There is also the Cauca region with its organic soil obtained by volcanic ash that produces soft and sweet grains.
Each coffee-growing country has a high quality of supervision based on the partnership of “The National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia,” which since 1927 is responsible for ensuring the maximum improvement and maintenance of the product, in order to preserve its quality.
However, the concern among coffee producers was reflected from 1904, when they showed the ups and advanced export demands by then projected in the country; emerging the first “Society of Coffee Producers” in order to control and regulate the entire process of exporting the product; but it could not be properly achieved by the strong influences of the events of World War II and undesirable interventions in other countries attempting the adjustment of control.
In the year of 1927 notable Coffee Federation was born and authorized to achieve the manage and monitor of all existing coffee cultures of Colombia, based on the quality, check of the product, exportation and all the administrative processing of all revenues. That is why, thanks to the efficient organization and constant examination of the federation for each coffee growing, they have managed to generate optimal product development and production that positions Colombia on the world stage as the tastiest and best coffee; highlighting the beans as the freshest, soft and sweet.
