The I Ching is a book originating in China, and its meaning in English is The Book of Changes. It is one of the oldest texts of this civilization, which pays special attention to facts that are beyond mere chance. You can think of the I Ching as an oracle. That would be the first impression, but it really goes beyond that, because it is also a sapiential or a work of knowledge. As for its author, it is somewhat debatable, since it is believed that it was created by 4 people: Weng Wang, Fu Hi, The Duke of Chou and Kung Tse (Confucius).
For the Chinese, the I Ching is the source of consultation for any important decision, since it can indicate, at every moment, the correct way to act, but it is not a book of divination or magic that shows the future. The purpose is to reflect the changes that constantly occur at all levels in the universe.
Unlike other oracles or methods of consultation, it is not limited to predictions, but also reveals why things are what they are and what can be done about it. It is presented to all as an ordered set of 64 hexagrams that manifest everything that exists, as well as the horoscope wheel and houses. But the attractiveness is in the verses, which from a poetic and metaphoric view, hide deep and valuable teachings, transcending the oracle.
At first, it was written to be consulted by the nobles of the Chinese dynasties, for the symbolic structure, philosophical and moral depth; also because of its relationship based on the principle of polarity between the Yin (the feminine, passive and receptive), and the yang (the masculine, active and productive), which these nobles knew and understood very well. Despite its difficult interpretation, at first, this book captivated a few intellectuals from the Western Hemisphere. One of them being Carl Jung, who developed his theory on synchronicity, and considered it an excellent tool for exploring the content of the subconscious.
As part of the esoteric oracles, it is the basic tool to find harmony, because it describes the present situation of those who consult it and, moreover, predicts how it will be resolved in the future, if the correct approach is adopted. But, before entering the world of I Ching, you should know about its 64 hexagrams, which are the ones that will give you the indicated answer. Also formulate the question as accurately as possible, because if it is vague, the answer will be even vaguer.
Regarding the answer, you must interpret it with the signs you receive and your own experience; but in every sense it will be true, although at first you may not understand it. In any case, the I Ching will offer a profound advice in each answer, the final decision will be yours because each one is responsible for their destiny.
