The 76-year-old Venezuelan designer, Carolina Herrera has been awarded by the National Portait Gallery museum from Washington, with the award Portait of a Nation Prize, for a wide experience in three decades in fashion.
The event characterized for “Celebrating men and women that make America what it is today” according to the description from the National Portait Gallery’s portal. Six influential persons were awarded, the categories that stand out the most are: civil laws, business, entertainment, science and sports. This year, a huge pop culture figure was highlighted, and that is Aretha Franklin, because of her input in music and her particular voice.
The gala was this year’s past Sunday November 15th, and counted with the presence of the elegant Carolina Herrera. Is an award that must make Venezuela very happy, because the designer was selected as influent inside the most important nowadays’ fields.
