To look a beautiful skin is not only necessary to clean it frequently and use sunscreen every day, but also it should be exfoliated at least once a month, although it is recommended to be once a week. By exfoliating the skin, its texture improves, the pores are uncovered, the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles is reduced and finally, it eliminates all those impurities that normally adheres to our skin.

There are multiple commercial exfoliants that will provide the desired finish on the skin, however in our nature or in our common market, we find various products that can exfoliate our skin and provide a series of nutrients without containing any external chemical agent, in addition to that they usually have a lower cost than the natural ones. For these reasons, we bring a small list of the most common and effective natural exfoliants.

• Coffee: if we add a little coffee to our cleansing cream, then moisten the face and apply it with circular movements, we will have a successful homemade exfoliation on the face. This type of exfoliation is mainly recommended as a cleanser on the face.

• Milk and oats: you have to mix two tablespoons of powdered milk, half a cup of ground oats and cornstarch, adding water little by little until the consistency is pasty. Once we get this consistency, we should let the mixture stand for about a minute. Then apply the mixture on the face and neck with a massage, wait a few minutes and remove with plenty of water. This type of exfoliation is also good for moisturizing the skin.

• Linseed and honey: this exfoliation mix is highly recommended for knees and elbows. Mix a cup of honey with half a glass of warm water, add 25 grams of linseed (approximately one teaspoon) and stir until a paste results. The mixture is stored in the refrigerator for a period of three hours, then applied by rubbing elbows and knees. It is important to let the mixture act for three minutes and then remove it with plenty of water.

• Sugar and olive oil: ¼ cup of sugar should be mixed with three tablespoons of olive oil. It is applied to exfoliate the whole body during bathing.

• Sea salt and olive oil: ¼ cup of sea salt and ¼ cup of olive oil are mixed. Once the ingredients are well mixed, apply on the body on wet skin, massaging the skin until its color is light pink. After this you should remove the exfoliant with plenty of warm water. This exfoliation works for the whole body.

It is always good to know about homemade tricks that take care of our economy, the environment and, of course, that they are good for our body. We hope that this list of exfoliants will be of utmost use and allow us to show off a radiant and renewed skin from head to toe.
