The events that happen every day in the world aren’t missed in any social network, as a matter of fact they become in objects of discussion in the highest level of experts, or in the opposite, they become in arguments in any corner, where more than ideas, the show bad spelling from its participants.
What I mean by this is that social networks previously, thinned any type of topics with words, memes, real images, videos, and messages of any kind, as varied as ideas are, cultures and beliefs of its millions of followers, without caring if they live in London, Katmandu, Alaska or Latin America.
The most recent events in Paris and its impact on other European countries have not escaped this reality in the use of social networks, especially in one of the most visited, as it is Facebook. I invite you to know how far it is a crime to share your opinion through your personal account in this famous network; join us.
In Germany, the fact reached the highest courts of that country. For lawyers and human rights defenders, point with iron finger to this network since it allowed the publication of hundreds of phrases or images which are a xenophobic demonstration; which it is nothing more than the hatred of foreigners.
Hundreds of people from other parts of Europe, particularly France, fleeing from terrorism, have been received with rejection, hatred and contempt, so authorities of this country and global organizations fighting for human rights, have pointed to Facebook, accusing this social network for allowing these actions, making them accomplices.
As a product from these events, Facebook announced that it will be more severe and strict with any message that violates or encourages hatred among human beings. In fact, they already started to implement the measure, although some believe they are still too lenient.
Given this fact, it has opened a worldwide debate about the fine line between law and freedom of expression and fundamental human rights. Although there are thousands of jurisprudence that analyze the legal environment of the problem in my opinion it is much more about being a human, more about having heart, solidarity and love.
Because of Facebook or not, I am of those who think that absolutely no one has the right to humiliate, harassing, make anyone feel inferior and foment hatred among human beings. Social networks, and Facebook in particular, were created to promote the rapprochement and friendship, so they are being used for other feelings, that’s enough reason to disagree. Do not fill your heart and your Wall with phrases or negative elements, because there is enough it in real life. Much more than a click or like.
