In an increasingly tech world, technology is present in almost every aspect of our lives, transformed the way we live, providing us with simplicity and comfort. At this point, we can hardly live without it becoming essential in our homes, offices, schools and every corner of the world. Inventions such as the light bulb, televisions, washing machines, cars, aircraft, mobile phones, satellite systems and a very long list of things, swell the list of everything that man has managed to meet their needs.

However, there is an invention which is considered as the greatest of the twentieth century and that has had the most influence on our lives, known to all as internet. It has managed to conquer, billions of people around the world for its simplicity and versatility of use, opening new horizons in meeting our needs, But its main drawback is that it has created dependency on us, to the point that the more we connect, the more we isolate ourselves. Therefore, one must ask, are we masters or slaves of technology?

For the answer, just evaluate what we do with the Internet, to understand its impact on our lives. We connect to it from our cell phone, computer or from a tablet; in homes, work and schools. Whether we are children, adults or elderly, we invest a lot of time to: conduct research, download content, send and receive messages, communicate in real time, shopping, news, consulting, among others. But what benefits us from connectivity? And how many experiences, we don’t live with our loved ones, for being connected to the internet?

It is there when we realize that we have subtly become slaves of technology and that the problem could get worse in the future. Since the growing trend is connectivity of all things to Internet.

Also, new technologies may emerge with a similar effect, as we are in a world in constant change and where every day we will have new needs. Therefore, all existing technology, will continue to develop and move further toward an unpredictable evolution, which could create more dependency on them. That is why we must take action in the present, to not continue making the same mistake.

First, keep in mind that technology is not bad, but we must use it as a means to live our life and do what really matters, enjoying it without being slaves. Let’s make a proper and balanced use, limiting the time you spend; on social networks, and the Internet and let us give more time to family and friends, interacting with them face to face, without letting those moments that both filled us and can never be recover, if we keep doing the same. You see that they will appreciate it and you will feel better about yourself.

Also, you should ask yourself: Am I Technology’s Slave? And I’ll be really willing to change it?

Nowadays we are becoming more and more dependent on technology, and some people are isolated from the real world just because they don’t put a balance between reality and the virtual world.
