The eyes are astonished to the stunning flat-topped vertical mountains projecting from the savannah. The breeze goes through the huge tepuis, where adventurers contemplating the mysterious and exotic landscape with this wide open sky; many have described this as if was from another planet, and one of them is Roraima.

It has 2810 meters high and is located in the Guiana Shield in the southeast side of the Canaima National Park (Venezuela); the mountain includes a triple border point of Venezuela, Brazil and Guyana.

The Roraima is the highest of the Venezuelan tepuis and one of the most stunning beauties of nature; heritage of this country and considered the oldest rock formation of the earth.

This is the preferred destination for many tourists. The adventure is based on the expedition at the highest tepuy; where plant species are appreciated, many animals considered exotic and contemplation of the amazing rock formations.

This experience will leave many difficult memories to forget and the desire to return. When you reach this great place, take into account some considerations and analyze where you really want to go; yes, visit the jump is mandatory.

It is important to seek the services of a native guide (are indigenous experts from the region), which will take you there comfortably, including meals, tents and all the waste management. We must have some physical condition to move forward with calm during the 25 kilometers of road.

You must carry a backpack with everything necessary to be on the mountain for as long as you have planned. Remember, you will travel several kilometers (walks of 4-8 hours per day) and your cargo should be light. Don’t forget your personal hygiene items, along with a First Aid kit. You must wear a hat or cap; sunglasses, sunscreen and lots of water.

Roraima is reached through a rustic road from the main road of the Great Plains, between kilometer 88 and Santa Elena de Uairen to reach the Pemon community Paraitepuy with a 4 wheels drive jeep.

When you reach the village, hikers should put their backpack and start walking. It takes a day to reach the base of the mountain, and another day to get to the top. Upon reaching the top for the first time can touch the wall of the Roraima and see the fully extended savannah; you can see the diversity of stones with shapes of turtles and unimaginable vegetation: the floor full of quartz; a huge mountain-shaped car called Maverick; small natural pools and waterfalls from the top of the tepui.
