Friday, December 4th, 2015. The Japan Coast Guard investigates a mysterious case that is shaking the country; concerning the strange appearance of eleven ghost ships which were found in Japan laden with rotting corpses of unknown nationality.
That was announced by the representative of the Coast Guard on Tuesday, adding he had found fishing equipment and nets on boats; plus, signs written in Korean. However, they indicated that this kind of simple wooden ships are not used in Japan; being in so far this year 34 ghost ships, especially in autumn and winter seasons due to northwest wind.
The mysterious ghost ships have in alarm to the Japanese authorities, being a matter of research. Four ships were found in early November and seven more were seen in recent days adrift in the Sea of Japan. The latter was found on Tuesday last week off the coast of Fukui, some 400 kilometers north of Tokyo. The news of these findings was issued by the channel NHK World, the largest organization of radio and television in Japan, creating controversial conspiracy.
Rescuers who brought the ships of the sea, counted the bodies of 20 sailors were badly decomposed and partially in bones; two of them headless. Some autopsies have been doing, but it was impossible to identify the bodies or the cause of death; and the authorities have no idea where he might have sailed.
There’s a single clue that could reveal the mystery of the ghost ships, with the remains of what appears to be a North Korean flag and a poster found in one of the boats would say Korean People’s Army. It is believed that the boats are fishing North Korea, undertaking a journey in line with the country’s strategy to expand its fishing industry. However, lack of equipment on board cause some doubts.
Another hypothesis could be related to people taking the most dangerous sea routes, trying to flee the oppressive regime of Pyongyang and its leader Kim Jong-un; avoiding the traditional routes strictly monitored, being killed in the attempt.
The crews of the ships were drifting for months, no one knew where they were; and they may just have been detected due to the storms that recently affected the region and dragged the boat ashore. For now, the only certainty is that the boats are quite old and have all the appearance of having spent several months adrift at sea.
