Thursday, December 17th, 2015. Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos announced Tuesday that no later than March 2016 peace accord between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People’s Army will be signed (FARC EP).

He also encouraged both sides to the conflict to make a ceasefire and the demobilization of guerrillas respectively; dedicated only to finish the covenants still missing.

The president said in his speech that a resolution must be looked for the guerrillas put their guns down; contribute to the realization of rights of victims, to rejoin society and “defend their ideas with votes and not bullets.”
