For this, take a sharp instrument, either a knife or a blaze, and scrape the stone, if the rock splinter or breaks is not jade, because the gem is very tough and heavy compared to other stones. It could also be hit with another stone, and if you see that part of the stone gets splinter is unlikely to be the Jade mineral. Also, if it has a hard plastic-like sound you better discard it, because the real jade when is rubbed against each other, it produces a loud sound, maintaining its surface.
Similarly, with a light test you can know whether or not the stone is authentic. With a magnifying glass or lens, close to the natural light, you should see its opacity. You will also know if the mineral is real jade by sliding your fingers over the rock, it is false if it fails to slide easily. Moreover, you could check the stone’s temperature. For this, hold it in the palm of your hand and if it is a real jade it would feel cold even though your palm is warm. You can tighten it with your hand, and even though they are warm, you will see that it will keep its temperature.
